This Privacy Policy describes how Math Poker (the "Service") handles information when you use our platform. By using the Service, you acknowledge and accept the practices described in this policy. We make no warranties regarding data security, privacy, or protection of any kind.

2. Information We Collect

When you use the Service, we may collect and store data including, but not limited to:

• A username or display name you provide
• Account credentials and contact information
• Character customization preferences
• Game history and participation records
• Session identifiers and authentication tokens
• Any other information you provide when using the Service

This list is not exhaustive. As the Service evolves, we may collect additional types of information necessary to operate and improve it. We will update this policy accordingly, though we assume no obligation to notify you of such changes in advance.

3. How We Use Your Information

Data collected is used solely to operate the game - identifying players in a lobby, persisting your character appearance between sessions, and facilitating real-time gameplay via Socket.IO. We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties for marketing or any commercial purpose.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a MariaDB database managed via Prisma. We make no guarantees regarding the security, integrity, or availability of stored data. We accept no liability for:

• Unauthorized access to or disclosure of your data
• Data loss, corruption, or accidental deletion
• Breaches resulting from third-party software vulnerabilities
• Any harm arising from exposure of your stored information

You use the Service understanding that data security cannot be guaranteed. Do not use sensitive personal information as your username.

5. Cookies and Session Data

The Service may use cookies or browser storage to maintain your session and remember your preferences between visits. These are functional in nature and are not used for tracking, advertising, or analytics. We do not use any third-party tracking or analytics services.

6. Real-Time Communication

Gameplay takes place over a persistent WebSocket connection provided by Socket.IO. Messages exchanged during a game session (bets, actions, chat) may be temporarily processed in memory on the server. We do not permanently log or store in-game communications beyond what is necessary to resolve the current game state.

7. Third-Party Technologies

The Service relies on third-party open-source software including Next.js, React, Socket.IO, Prisma, MariaDB, and others. We have no control over how these technologies handle data internally and accept no responsibility for any privacy implications arising from their use, bugs, or security vulnerabilities.

We use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect the Service from automated abuse (bots) when creating or joining games. Turnstile is invoked invisibly on these actions and processes client-side signals such as your IP address, TLS fingerprint, User-Agent header, and the Turnstile site key. These signals are processed by Cloudflare strictly to distinguish human users from bots and are not used to identify, profile, or target individuals.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We do not offer a formal account deletion mechanism at this time. Data may be retained indefinitely or deleted at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to purge all data at any time without notice. If you want your data removed, contact us - but we make no guarantees regarding response time or completeness of deletion.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the Service, please contact us and we will make reasonable efforts to remove it.

10. No Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE ACCEPT NO LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES, LOSSES, OR HARM ARISING FROM THE COLLECTION, STORAGE, PROCESSING, OR DISCLOSURE OF YOUR DATA, WHETHER THROUGH NEGLIGENCE, THIRD-PARTY ACTION, OR ANY OTHER CAUSE. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

11. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the Service following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
